Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Audi Q5- Video
How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Kuat Transfer 3-Bike Platform Carrier on the back of our 2023 Audi Q5. So the Transfer is a solid bike carrier for your road bikes. Mountain bikes, it may come up a little bit short as far as that wheel base, but in general use is a good way to move three bikes, especially if you have something that's gonna have the carbon fiber or something with a nice frame or alternative style like a step through. In those cases, this guy's gonna work well, because it doesn't make any contact with the actual frame of the bike, you just have the front wheel hook that holds down the front of the bike and you have the rear cradle strap that holds your rear wheel in place. Another unique thing about the Transfer is the fact that the arms actually fold up out of your way and you have this U-shape on the base to make it easier for loading and unloading your bikes, which is unique to platform racks. Generally, you're gonna have to maneuver your bike over a mast or, you know, struggle it onto the carrier itself. more

Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack Review - 2023 Audi Q5- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're gonna take a look at the NV 2.0 base on the back of our 2023 Audi Q5 The NV 2.0 is a wheel mounted carrier, so you're gonna have two points of contact. You're gonna have the hook mount, and the wheel strap on the rear. It works for any bike, but it's specifically people that are going to want no contact to their frame. So if you have a fancier paint job, a carbon fiber bike, a step through bike, something unconventional, a wheel mount is gonna work. And this type of carrier basically future-proofs you against any bike you may encounter. Your weight capacity will be 60 pounds per bike. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo on the back of our 2023 Audi Q5. What makes the StageTwo a really cool bike carrier is a lot of the specs that it has. It will support your heavier bikes as far as your e-bikes rated up to 70 pounds per bike. It'll go up to 52 inches as far as your wheel base. And as far as your tire size, it can go between 16 inches all the way up to 29 inches. So it's a pretty wide variety of styles of bikes that this will accommodate. more

Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2023 Audi Q5- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-Bike Carrier on the back of our 2023 Audi Q5. The Destination lands at a point where you getting a lot of really solid features. As far as securing your bike to the carrier, you have this loop back here where you generally have a mast, that allows you to make adjustments for, basically, any style frame. Only thing I noticed is that with the way the arm reaches across, you're going to want to have to figure out what the best position is for your particular setup, but it does give you the flexibility to make that work, however you need. Your capacity is 70 pounds per bike. Your wheel base is 50 inches and you can support a wheel up to 29 inches, as small as 20. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Carrier on the back of our 2023 Audi Q5. The Destination is a very cost effective way to move four bikes, as you see on the back of your vehicle. It's gonna take up a lot of space, but a couple things to consider if you, before choosing this bike. As you see, it's a mast mounted bike carrier, so it's gonna make contact with your frame. So if you have a carbon fiber frame, fancy paint job and unconventional style, this carrier wouldn't be the best option for you. Overall it's still one of my top picks as far as moving four bikes in a more cost effective way. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Audi Q5- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Saris MHS on our 2023 Audi Q5. The MHS is a wheel mounted bike carrier that secures your bike by clamping down on the front and rear tire using the pivoting locking arms. Essentially this is gonna work for the person that has a unconventional bike frame, something with a nice paint job or a carbon fiber bike as well. So because there's no contact being made to the frame at all, and the bike's still very secure by the wheels. Your capacity is 80 pounds per bike on the back of your carrier. Loaded, you can see that this guy will kind of block some of the back of the vehicle as far as your tail lights, your backup camera and your license plate, and a portion of your back window as well. more

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Audi Q5- Video
How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider SE on the back of our 2023 Audi Q5. The Sport Rider is a very capable carrier that can support up to 80 pounds per bike, and as far as your wheel base up to 60 inches of tire diameter up to 29 inches. In general, this is going to cover a lot of bases. It's super adjustable. It, one thing I would say is a negative though, is gonna be, there is a lot of points that you have to touch to make those adjustments. But after you have it set up to your particular bike, it makes it a lot easier. more

It's gonna make contact with your frame in the middle and on your front and rear wheel along with a cradle. This type of carrier is gonna be for a person that's carrying their e-bikes. Maybe you've already experienced lugging your e-bikes to get it up on top of a carrier or you're new to it altogether and you just wanna bypass that entirely. The MonoRail is a great bike carrier if you we're looking for something that didn't make contact with your frame. It is a wheel mount, so you have a front ratcheting hook and a rear strap and cradle that secure the bike to the carrier so you don't have anything making contact with the frame. So if you have a carbon fiber bike, a bike with a nice paint job, maybe an unconventional bike like a step through bike, this is gonna help contain your bike to the back of your vehicle. The MonoRail covers a lot of bases as far as compatibility with a lot of different size bikes. Your weight capacity goes up to 60 pounds, your wheel based up to 48, and you're also gonna be able to support your fat tires up to five inches. more

The Guide Rail is a wheel mounted bike carrier that makes contact with just the wheels. So if you have a bike frame that's a special paint job or a carbon fiber, or maybe even an unconventional style, like a step through, this is gonna work for that. It's just gonna make secure your bike without making any contact to any of the frame. As far as on the back of the Q5, as you see just with one bike, it is kind of blocking out a part of your taillights, a portion of your license plate, as well as your backup camera. If you had two bikes on there, you know it would, I would say it'd be even worse as far as obstructing your view, so you just wanna be aware of that on the back of your vehicle. more

So with this bike rack, you have a really cool dual-wheel mount system, where you just hit the pistons (pistons clicking) and the mount goes up (mount clicks) and you're ready to load your bike. When you load your bike on there, (mount clicking) just bring it in, and you secure the bike by the front and the rear wheels. If you're familiar with the Kuat Piston Pro X, the main difference between the X and this one is the Kashima Coating as well as the wiring and taillights that the Pro X has and this one has not. But other than that, you have the really cool benefits of having a very easy-to-use bike rack. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today we have the Hollywood Rack Destination four bike platform rack. We'll be taking a look at how it fits our 2023 Audi SQ5. The destination is actually one of my favorite four bike platform racks. One, because it's at a really good entry level price, but even with that, it has a bunch of just solid fundamental features that make it easier to carry around multiple bikes without taking up too much time or too much carrying. This is gonna be a very lightweight rack that's also very compact. So, as cool as that all sounds, the downside to it though is it does not tilt away, it doesn't have an electric bike weight capacity, and you do have to be mindful that it does take a bunch of different steps to fully secure your bike and figuring that out the first time can be a little tricky. more

So the Destination is really popular because of how lightweight, compact and versatile it is. This is probably gonna be one of the few bike racks that can carry really small children's bikes. Now it is a more affordable rack, so you do miss out on certain premium features like tilting it away and extra-high weight capacity for electric bikes. But if you don't need those, and you prefer something lightweight and compact, this is the way to go. If you needed to get access to your hatch, you would have to take the bike off completely. more

Hello neighbors it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Kuat Transfer Bike Rack. Now this is a platform style two bike rack available an inch and a quarter. Also able to be adapted to two inches which is gonna be great on our 2018 Audi A4. Now our Audi today has a stealth hitch installed and that's gonna be a two inch receiver, but some of the other hitches that we offer are gonna be inch and a quarter and that's where this is a really nice option. My personal vehicle has an inch and a quarter and this is a bike rack that I've used on my own personal vehicle, but also you can put the adapter on and be ready for a two inch. So if you have a smaller vehicle or you just need a bike rack that you can transfer from car to car, this is gonna be a great option. more

Today, we're taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-Bike Rack on our 2019 Audi Q8 This is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, that holds the bike in these trays and primarily by our wheels. This is gonna hold it with two wheel hoops, one on either tire, getting a pretty good strong hold on the bike. It's gonna mean it has zero frame contact too, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. With a 67-pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some of those heavier E-bikes too, because it does up that standard 60 pounds by just a little bit compared to some other similar bike racks. We do have the ability to tilt the rack away with bikes loaded, using the pedal towards the first tray, and lowering the whole thing down. more

Now the Kuat Sherpa is what I think of as the ideal middle of the road bike rack. It's nice, pricey as say, the Kuat NV but it still has the premium features that you would expect in a correct bike rack. Now, one of its features is that it can tilt away and to do so, you pull on this lever right over here and that allows this bike rack to drop down, to tilt. And you'll want to tilt it away if you want to add access your hatch. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Audi Q5 NV22G- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we are looking at the Kuat NV 2.0 two-bike rack here on our 2018 Audi Q5. Now the Audi is a premium car, so I would see the Kuat NV as a great pair, since it is a premium bike rack. It has all of the wonderful features, the weight capacity, even the extra bike repair stand, great things that you would expect from a premium Kuat bike rack. So one of its features is that it can tilt away and to do so, you pull on this lever right over here. That allows it to drop down to a tilt, and you'll want to do this if you wanna access the hatch on your vehicle. So as you can see, with the door opening, there's plenty of space between our hatch and our bike allowing us to get in there, maybe grab our water, grab our bags, grab our helmets, without having to take our bike off, which means you can get onto the trail a lot quicker. more

Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at the Yakima RidgeBack hanging style bike rack right here on our 2020 AVI S25. So the Yakima RidgeBack is what I would use. If I wanted a premium hanging style experience, you have hanging style, bike racks, you have platform style, bike racks, which I think have a little bit more stability, but you can't carry as many bikes on here. With this one, you can get a four bike or even a five bike by version, which you can't do with a platform style. more

So, the Kuat Sherpa is one of your more premium bike racks but not as pricey as the Kuat NV. It's definitely what you would get if you wasn't being stylish. Works really well, has nice, smooth, graceful movements and has all the premium features you would expect from a Kuat bike rack. So, one of the features we're gonna take a look at first is the tilt away feature. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2017 Audi Q3- Video
Hi there, Audi owners. Today on your 2017 Audi Q3, we're gonna be test fitting Thule's Hitching Post Pro 4-bike rack. This bike rack is a compact hanging-style 4-bike rack that is gonna work with both men's, women, and children's bikes. However, with some of your children and women's bikes an adapter may be required but you can get that here at etrailer. Now you do want to keep in mind that this rack holds your bikes by the frame here and they just hang down below. There is a anti-rattle down there as well to keep your bikes from clinking into one another. more

This is a very secure bike rack that prevents any rocking back and forth. This is going to be a really great way to get four bikes on the back of your Audi. Most of the A6s are only going to have a class 1 hitch. A class 1 hitch really limits to how many bike racks that there are out there for you, and especially getting four bikes out there.Let's take a closer look at how this is held in place. This bike rack is going to be a two bike style platform rack, and what's really cool about it is, it accommodates a lot of different style bikes. So a problem with platform-style racks is most of them have a hook that attaches to the frame right here to hold it in place. And sometimes that can be an issue when you have alternative style bikes that have really sharp down, or top tube right here also with women's bikes and even kids' bikes. But what this one does, is this allows you to rotate that hook all the way around. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Audi A6 TH44VR- Video
Hey guys, Zack here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium 2-Bike Platform Bike Rack on our 2012 Audi A6. Right away one of the coolest things with this bike rack is the way that it holds the bike on. And that's with the two wheel mounts. So most platform racks are either going to have an arm that secures down onto the frame, or just a front wheel mount with a strap that goes around the back tire.So with this style, we don't have any contact with the frame, which is great for a carbon bike like this, but what's cool is it allows some adjustability. So you don't have any issues with your handlebars, maybe coming into contact with your seat or your pedals getting caught up in different parts of the bike. more
